he will if he just replaces the faces themselves. that way he doesnt have to worry about gauges not working

Or any mileage concerns either. I like the idea of it being strictly cosmetic...

I was just joking about the summer of '09. I would like to get some LED's in if I'm going to rip out the dash...

You wont be ripping out the dash to replace your gauges. Its 2 screws and that chunk pops out. Its great! If I was you - BLUE_TL - Id stray from fucking with the faces directly... FATTYMS1 does have a point about the guarantee that all would work right but its easy to flop on the needle deal and mess it all up. Calibration is not a simple thing (I dont think) and may end up costing you money. Try and do the whole units - its easier! Faster! And your not going to lose the milage at all. Thats in your main board. Just try swapping the entire gauge of each first. If it doesn't work than pop onto the face replacement.

How hard is this for someone with pretty much no experience in this sort of thing? Because I want to do this bad but I'd mess something up.

There are a number of DIY's on the site that will show you exactly how to take out the dash. Pretty much everything you can think of has been discussed at length and most likely photo-documented.
