tls throttle body

tls throttle body

would putting a tl-s throttle body on my 99 tl-p do anything?

not unless youd put a tl-s intake, and manifold with runners on. the manifold inlet would still be the same size so it would "block" the air some. and the intake would restrict it.

You would have to like stated above change the IM opening or IM to match or you will still have a bottlekneck

so i would need the IM and the intake? is that it? whats runners?

use the search button and find the threads where people swapped Intake manifolds. You need the upper AND lower IM. If you go with the type-s manifold you need to get a RPM switch to activate the 2nd stage intake

I have this mod done except for the fact that I did it pretty half assed... I just left the second TB open since I never got around to buying the rpm switch. Still felt like I gained hp, maybe even too much since my trans went out not too long after I did it. Anyone have the rpm switch hooked up??

your trans didnt blow do to you adding on the tb, it was on its way out already, with or without what u did.

yeah 10 more HP isn't going to fry our tranny's, maybe 100 extra HP will get us there quicker, but I doubt by much.

a whole new engine, type s has diff pistons, crank, cam, intake manifold, intake manifold runners, throttle body, vsa, bigger intake tubing.

Oh I know that...not the first time I have delt with the crappy trans we got. My new one should be getting here tomorrow anyway.
