The Tanabe Medallion Touring is designed to be under 93 db. If you remove the resonator it will make it more aggressive and a little raspier.

I just looked on the Tanabe site, please say you didn't pay 900 for a exhaust.

What's wrong with that? Many of us dropped $1k on the ATLP.

The Tanabe exhaust uses 2 mufflers and a resonator. It is advanced technology built into the mufflers and it is 100% high grade stainless steel. It's well worth the $900.

It may be but when you have a family to think about and saving for unexpected stuff like tranny issues or sickness it is hard to shell out 900-1k for a shiny pipe that will probably outlast the car, that one isn't going to improve performance nor make me any more popular. It is going to sound awesome yes I know but when I have other expenses like rent, food, regular bills and such in my opinion it is just too much. I'm not knocking the guys/girls that have them I just can't do it even if I wanted too. Sorry for the long post.

That's fine. No one is asking you to purchase this exhaust. But you get what you pay for. And modifying a car isn't a necessity; it's a hobby and a desire. If you can't afford to modify your car that is fine but please don't discourage others for the choices they make.

Too quiet? Sell it to me and buy the hyper medallion on eBay for the 98-02 accord coupe!! Lol
It's loud, but sounds really good IMO. I got rid of mines cause it was just a bit too loud for the passengers I have in my car all the time and it killed my subwoofers.

It's not that I can't afford or want too modify my car, its just that when you have children or think about other life events THAT COULD happen a exhaust is second or third on the list.

This is completely off topic now. This entire subforum is about performance parts, not your kids. Please stop posting in the thread about your life.

I retract what I said, if you were talking about removing the resonators that came with the exhaust. I wouldn't cut up an expensive exhaust you just bought, especially since it's made to be under the legal sound intensity limit. You already have a SRI, so I would go for headers next. That should keep make you happy, as it will increase the sound without adding rasp. If you STILL want it louder, then you'll have to mess with some catalytic converter options. I would avoid that though.

^Agreed.. get some headers and a bigger cat. The one's for the TL-P are only 2" diameter. Either find a type-s cat or get a custom one made from a magnaflow cat.

@Karanx

But isn't that what this forum is about the WHOLE experience of your Acura and life itself and how the car pertains to it. Life is life I can't help I love my babies more than a car. I'm sorry just being honest.

Please dont take this the wrong way but, No. Especially for one to come in and say 900 is to much because you have a family and other things to think about! Its great you put your family first BUT, He wasnt asking if it was too much to pay. He was asking about removing parts to make it louder. Not every one has a family or things like that to consider. Some just make more than others. Some have different priorities. Every post/thread isnt about the whole experience of your acura to say its not worth it or it is worth it. What isnt worth it to some is well worth it to others. Like i have ZERO regrets dropping 5k to convert my car to a manual and was well worth it to me.

I know all this guys, don't get me wrong I love my TL and all the other cars i have had in the past LOL, I enjoy doing a mod and working on a car just as much as anyone else does (trust me on this). I guess the game changes a little when familys come along and such. Isn't a mid muffler delete enough to make it sound good and deep? Maybe not for some but me its enough. To funny all too funny.
