Steering wheel radio control

I was wondering, does the steering wheel radio control on a 99 acura 3.2 tl work for an aftermarket HU also? Or do you loose that option?

My friend is an installer and said that they have a kit that will make it work for aftermarket units. You might want to run a search on google or something to try and find it!!

There are aftermarket kits that will allow use of them with aftermarket HU's
