SRI and Water question.
SRI and Water question.
It is raining pretty hard today, but I had to open my hood to check something to I pulled the car in my garage. I noticed that the left side of my stock air box was wet and beaded up with water, now keep in mind this was only sitting in the rain. I then found out that there is no rubber seals on either side of my hood. I order a SRI the other day and now I am a little concerned. If water is getting all over the air box while the car is just sitting in rain, that's where my exposed filter is going to be. Any ideas to protect this from happening?
first of all, your engine bay should be pretty dry in the rain, especially if it's just sitting. with a sri, you will not have any issues and with the filter getting wet a little is fine. as long as you're not submerging it in a lake, you will not have any issues.
Alright cool, the only thing I can think of is before I bought the car I know it was in an accident in which they had to replace the hood and fender. My hood is a little higher on the left side where the air box is then the right. Maybe that's why there is some water entering there.
