Question Remove Intake Resonator Question!

Hey,
I plan on removing my intake resonator what materials/tools will I need?
and what size bolt is it?

the DIY for the Intake Resonator
( https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...58#post1870075 ) This link < the pictures are lost/corrupted?

How can I figure out where the bolts/clips are?
and how to remove the intake resonator?

Also!

If I remove the intake resonator do I still really need to buy a CAI kit? like Flowmaster or Magnaflows, AEM.. ? Cause the sound is more aggressive.. and also what if I install K&N filters? or K&N cone filters?

Also after removing just the Intake Resonator I'll have a more aggressive sound?
Even If i'm driving at like 50? or do I have to keep flooring it? :/

What the use of removing it really just for sounds right?
and is it dangerous? I heard about something about dirt or leaves going up the tube? lol.

the bolts are all 10mm if i remember right, the sound is only when giving it gas and you might as well remove both there is a small one between the filter and throttle body

Jack up the car and prop up drivers side on a jack stand. Take off driver front wheel. There's a few push pins to pop out. Pry the middle part out and it will come loose. Once u popped enough out. I think there's 5 u gotta do total to gain access to the resonator. You're going to be able to see the first bolt easily. On the resonator closer to the rear of the car on top of the resonator. That u can remove easily w a ratchet. The next one is towards the front of the car on the resonator. It will be hard to see if you don't know where to look. It's on the furthest outside corner of the resonator close to the fender. I found the best way to remove this one was with a ratcheting 10mm wrench. It was easier to maneuver than a ratchet was. Once u got this bolt out wiggle it a bit and pull down. If you've already removed the inside resonator then it will just drop out. Just maneuver it out gently through the splash guard. I found this to be easier than taking off the bumper. That second bolt I described will be the hardest part. It's a bitch if you don't know where to look, at least it was for me.

There's a smaller resonator inside underneath the filter box.

there is a big resonator that goes under the filter box....and between the filter box and throttle body there is a second resonator which if you remove you need to cap it....cost like $2 for it at home depot...but it sounds better

Is there a DIY for this?
cause I only saw a DIY for the big intake resonator also for the small resonator what kind of cap is it? so I can ask the people there.

Any DIY with pictures or non pictures?
Video's would be helpful.. but eh, about the aftermarket one, does it have to be for a TL or can it be just anything for any car? :/

thanks!!!!!

I went to Lowes and bought a rubber piping stop with the like metal wire you screw tighter if that makes sense? It's locaged on the underside of the stock intake near the throttle body. Its fairly small. However I did it and then put the smaller resonator back on because it hums at idle which annoyed me and I didn't like the sound at WOT I prefer it with just the one resonator.

appreciate it man, hey can i remove the resonator from underneath the car? like the way to remove your foglights ? I'm guessig you can but it'l be way harder cause you cant see shit lol.

Also can you help me with 1 more thing? my Shift Gate where I change gears there is no light to light up the PRNDL.. Is this a fuse problem or a wiring problem? What is the Shift Gate actually called? So I can read the manual and find what Fuse box its at? or if you can tell me which fusebox and number It'll be more better respect man.

i think its easier to just remove the bumper the resonator has 2 bolts which are a bitch to get to unless you have a good jack and can get under there easily

thanks for this DIY.

i found removing the bumper excessive. removing the clips securing the splash guard/left inner fender behind the wheel, and a few clips holding the left fender to the front bumper, should be enough.

i removed the screw securing the bumper through the left fender, and used a 6" socket extension to get to the bolt closest to the bumper. the other two were rather simple.

thanks for the tewt (toot aka 'tut' aka tutorial).
