I am in the process of installing my new headunit. It's an Alpine CDA-9886 HU. I went ahead and tested it, everything is working except the factory Bose subwoofer. Would I need a new amplifier for the stock Bose subwoofer? Which one would you recommend?


Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure I read a warning on a website that said your stock sub will not work with a new deck. But mabie you just need a new amp but thats what I have read.

yea it wont work with a new H.U. maybe some of the audiophiles figured out a way to use it but i just got a couple of 12's in the trunk to replace it

Your stock sub will not work after installing a HU. The only way it will work is if you slice the wires somewhere. Search the A/V section and there is a DIY for it.

So are you saying that if i buy a new HU the only speaker that will not work is the stock subwoofer? I have a Kicker L5 in my trunk that is DYING to be banging.
