navigation/computer install

After being in my friend's is300 w/navi...i've got the craze. What i'm going to do is install a small computer in my glovebox, add gps hardware, connect it to a touch screen lcd and that such....
what i want is to put the screen where the acura navi screen goes, I figure i'd buy the trim piece that comes on tl's with the navigation option. What I want to know though, is where do the ac controls go when you get the navi option? anyone done this or know of any information pertaining to differences between tl's with/without navigation?

has anyone tried this yet? i'm contemplating putting an 8.4" LCD screen in the HU/CD holder space of my non-navi 2000 TL.

those are all pretty nice, but i was wondering if someone had tried to fit a larger screen in the HU area. my 2000 ford f-150 was totalled last month by an uninsured driver so now i've joined the venerable ranks of 2nd gen tl acuraphiles. the ford had my old carputer that consisted of and epia ITX board with a 8.4 LCD that was so big it took up the HU and climate controls (i had to move the climate controls to below the steering wheel column. the installation was very slipshod, but i didn't care because it was a fleet truck and didn't need to be pretty. now that i'm driving a car with something as luxurious as a tilt steering wheel and carpetted floors.

my plan is to basically keep everything from my old setup and transfer it into the acura. i've got a lot of planning to do and some more parts to buy, but i'm hoping to have it done in a month's time.

anyone have any good (cheap) ideas for fabricating a nice trim bezel to go around the monitor. i was thinking about having a sheet of 3/8" ABS plastic trimmed to fit, but i'm wondering what i can do to make it blend in with the rest of the dash.

Here are some pictures of the old install in the ford so you have idea about this screen. well... it turns out i don't have any pictures of the old installation.

i want to switch the whole thing on and off with a fog light switch since my model doesn't have fog lights. for some reason though the honda estore has the diagram for the fog light swich, but doesn't list the part number in the ordering box or the navigation style hazard switch. what's up with that?

hey thread jacker! haha jk
but to make a nice trim bezel, just cut out a piece of plastic, then to make it kind of blend in, i believe you can get trim kits to match the stock trim. it prolly doesn't list the part number because it comes in an assembly with the another thing.
