I just got a reply from the guy @ maxbore. He can bore it to 4mm over stock and the manifold port to match. I am going to send it off and will post results. I plan on doing dyno test for first time, but its gonna be after I can get the damaged header replaced with the comptech knockoffs, straight pipe, plugs changed, and obviously TB back, and likely f/ic and tuning. Will have all that done by the end of the month.

Jorge does AWESOME work. I had him bore out and portmatch my Tb when i did my F22/F23 IM swap on my '97. Can't say enough good things about him. You'll be pleased with the work, but i couldn't say anything about the gains. Never got to dyno mine with the nice manifold...

I don't know $$ total yet. I'm auto illiterate and even my mechanic couldnt tell from his website if he just bores out the TB and upper intake connection to match, or lower intakes as well. If he dosnt do it all then theres a place that jotech in garland will send part of the job out to, but im sure they wll charge more...

Don't know, but I used King Motorsports to bore my TBs out . . I think it was 3mm, but can't remember. I didn't catch whether you had a Type S or base. If you have a Type S you will need to bore out the traction control body as well. Either way, you'll love the gains . . I did. And looking forward to the dyno results.

By the way, saw that you are in the Dallas area . . you should check out the Texas Meets thread and drop in.

I pulled the traction control body as well. Waiting to make sure he can do all the work. How much of an increase will this give, did it feel more or less than installing headers?

Butt dyno was more than headers. It really came alive with the extra air.

I used Maxbore.com for my T/B. $105 for the service. He had a good turnaround with mine, 6 days from shipping it to him and receiving it back from him.

Jorge does good work. He has good feedback over on HondaTech.

* Had NVA-AV6 bore out my I/M port rather than Maxbore.com

Heres some pics. I cant get ahold of maxbore and need to ship tommorrow. I am guessing now he does not bore out the lower intake and I need to figure out if boring out the lower intake would help and who to send it too.

This is my TB of course and the other part is Traction Control TB/TB adapter? Both these would goto maxbore?

This would goto maxbore as well to match up with the TB?

What do you call the above, this is just the lower intake manifold right? and will it help if this is bored out?

I should have mine done by this next sat...besides the hassle of sending this off to get the work done, this is pretty cheap mod for the HP gain if its better than headers.

I don't think he does lower manifold porting because the main way that would benifit you is if you get the lower IM ported to match the heads. THAT would be a PITA unless you're doing a real heavy build. when i sent mine off for my f22/23 i just got the upper IM ported and i noticed a fair gain. I don't know if you'll see that much of a gain on a stock motor but one with I/H/P you may see a better gain.

Yes . . . really.

It produces power from the moment you hit the gas and goes through redline. Headers give you a big number, but in a relatively small range . . and on the very lowend you initially produce less HP with headers. All I can say is that once I did this mod I was breaking tires loose from a 30mph punch. There was one odd initial problem. When flooring it in 1st or 2nd at 4500rpm+ it seemed to rev real fast and then before redline it would act like the traction control kicked in. I thought it might have been sucking air so quickly that it was pulling the TCS butterfly shut. It did this for a while and went away. Not sure what it really was . . . maybe the ECU needed to relearn some things.

Oh, I do have a ram-air set up and that plays a factor in the gains as well. PM me sometime and we can meet so I can show you how I did the ram-air. Or wait until I get around to repairing the ram-air intake and I'll post pics.

Great, just great. Today after waiting for almost two weeks for my intake runners, without any other heads up, I just get a notice from paypal of a refund from P2BR racing for the intake runners they had supposedly been waiting to get from Acura to bore out, with a simple note that the pricing on these had increased and they were going to have to discontinue them from thier site. Now after a February 7 order that was supposed to by recieved by that Friday, I will be lucky to get the remaineder of my order [my thermal gaskets]in by this Friday.

Update and please opine

Ok, so Ive got everything except the lower intake runners, which are being bored out today and next dayed to me. I can get this all done sat, but....I realized that porting the intake runners without porting the head runners/heads to match won't give near as much increase. I need to decide if I want to pay my shop nearly $800 to remove and place the heads and a machine shop $600 to port and polish the heads/runners to match the intake runners [this includes custom gasket]. With all possible bolt ons, ported tb and upper intake, ported intake runners, porting the heads/runners is an additional $1,600 that might be better served just throwing down the $3,950 for the C/T S/C...thoughts?

hmm 1600 is alot. I saw a ct sc in the bm for like 1800, no need to pay 4k for a new one imo. If I was gonna spend that much i would probably go the 3.6l swap route for n/a or get a ct sc or custom turbo.

As far as the porting of the heads and head runners, i dont know if $600 for the work and custom gasket feels that bad of a hit, its the $800 to remove and replace the heads that my shop wants. I am going to call the place that does the port and ask what they will charge to remove the heads and do it at a later date. I don't even wanna pay $1K for the work right now Ive already dropped too much for the TB/intake work, new headers, staight pipe, all the labor.

Yep, I'm going that route...I'm putting too much $$ into this, i was just getting a timing belt job and it turned into more modding than i had planned. With 110K miles my TL is supposed to be the daily driver to the new bmw 5 series im about to lease....

I would say for the $$, getting your throttle bodies bored out and the upper intake to match through maxbore.com is worth it!! I would say the throttle response on the low end and especially when vtech kicks in is outstanding and comparable to headers. I know the video is upside down, oops.
