LED foglight problem

I purchased LED foglights and I have a strange problem. Both LED bulbs will work on the driver side but neither will work on the passenger side. Stock fog bulbs will work in both locations. Anyone else heard of this problem?

Thanks
T

sound like a wiring harness problem, the male or female connection on the passenger side must be bad or slightly out of contact for the LED.

you might need to get a new wiring harness, but check and see if one of the two contact pins are bent out of place or pushed in too far.

If a button does not light up when pushed in then it may be that the LED has come out of its socket. You can check this by removing the plastic lens cap (simply pull off) and making sure that the LED is correctly seated. If the LED has come out, re-insert it with the legs in the horizontal plane and replace the cap. If it still won't light, remove the cap and take the LED out of the socket, turn it through 180 degrees and re-insert it. Put the lens cap back on and see if it lights now. If not then please contact us for further info.

I had the same problem with my LED license plate bulb. did this, working great now..

I dont see where the pins are bent and everything looks fine. Both bulbs are working fine in the driver side socket but neither are working in the pass. socket so its not a bulb problem. I tried cleaning the socket with electrical connection cleaner and even used dialectric grease on the connection. If it is the connector the only way Im going to improve it is to solder in a new pigtail. The only other things I can think of is a weak ground on that side of the harness or maybe a relay but I dont even know if the fogs are relayed. I think Im going to have to break out the multimeter this weekend and take some readings. Thanks for the ideas.

This sohould be an easy fix. The same thing happen to me, but with my HID fogs. Incandescent bulbs light up now matter how you connect them, led's and hid's don't. Pull out the pins going into the bulb socket and swap them. That way the positive lead is going to the positive on the led and the same for ground.

Looks bright, does not come close to a decent amount of light output thats usable. HID kit is the only thing i would use.

Type S was right on the money. The pos and neg leads were reversed on the pass. side from the drivers. Switched them over and it worked fine. Will try to get pictures up but I am on the road for the next couple of days.

Thanks for the help
