Anyone with race seats?

I'm not a huge fan of the seats in my TL. They are pretty comfy but don't offer much support. Black leather racing seats seem like they would be pretty sick and would bring a sporty look to the interior. Anyone install race seats in their 2G?

serious? what are you racing against or doing? lol

fsttyms1 doesn't seem to have a problem with his seats and he's gone track numerous times.

IMO, race seats don't fit the TL's look, it's a luxury sedan.

Leave it for a coupe or Evo's/STi's

They're not so bad, if you are going for the sporty look.

I like the Type-S seats though. Maybe do that conversion as an alternative.

josh: i'm not racing or even taking my car to the track. i just find that sometimes i slide around on my stock seats on corners.

jcharged: can you even find type-s seats online? or would i need to go to the dealership and spend a few hundred on them?

Get ready for none of your airbags to work by switching them out (unless you find a way to bypass the Side Airbags some how as they are built into your seat)

If i did any seat swap it would be 3rd gen seats or Recaro.

Here is my 3G TL with racing seats. The 2G is not that much different. Just requires some creative engineerig for the mounts.

that would be better in a CL since the back seats have been eliminated leaving 2 doors leading to a piece of carpet on a TL, try to save weight all you want I bought my TL for its grown up appeal, luxury sport comfort, its not a race car, because it has a vtec motor, granted I beefed up my suspension and made my engine breath better and run more efficiently doesn’t mean I'm willing to sacrifice the nice leather seats that cushion my back as I effortlessly recline in traffic with my music blasting, as I look more comfortable than anyone else through my tinted windows. If you wanna go fast buy a crotch rocket they are faster than most cars most of us can afford. My TL-S combine’s spottiness and luxury not be confused with anything else. Where am I coming from? I was humbled as I was passed up doing 120mph like I was standing still by an 08 GSXR 600. I later found out he was doing 160mph. I could only achieve that if I supercharged my motor and threw it in a tubular chassis like the Ariel atom. I'm saying take it easy, don’t waste too much money it’s just a nice car

Actually the TL-p will do 150 just fine without a tubular frame or SC. It would probably come pretty close to 160 if the ECU wouldnt limit the car to 150.
