Idea heard around..

Have heard from several sources that putting dry ice in your intake while racing will improve ur time...any input?

not IN your intake but people put it around the intake and upper intake manafold - simply cools the intake and the air that goes through it too the engine - AKA more power.

i was meaning in my comptech icebox before the filter..i know it would be really cold air but would the CO2 mess me up?

Ummm not pretty sure about co2 issue but what i'm sure is when you go lapping take off the plastic engine cover so the heat will dissipate better for esthetic but any degres lower is less hp lost

Not durring racing, but before to cool it. Now if you have a aftercooler like on a SC set up then you would leave it in

well with the dry ice in the box the all the air being sucked in would be much colder...i thought the colder the air the better...just like takin in air out of the engine bay

Why would you do that? Then you will be sucking in the hot air from the engine bay.

But then you'd be sucking in CO2, I'm sure that couldn't be good.

I did take the covers off...i know a lot about it but im just tryin new ideas without hurting my car...

Just remove the plastic on your intake manifold .. but a bag of ice directly on the manifold and wait 20-30min between each run to let te engine cool down..
