shifter

how do i take out the grey shifter... and where can i find a crome shifter plate... also does anybody know how to take off the shifter knob and replace it with something a little more sporty please let me know thanks

Based on your posts, it appears you have a 99TL.

Shift plate removal: Remove outer trim ring (black). Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, pry up underneath one corner of the shift plate (there are tabs near each corner)


Chrome shift plate: remove the plate and soak it in paint remover for a minute or two. Wipe off paint. Chrome finish will be underneath.

Shift knob - just twist it off - lefty loosy (you're gonna have to turn it pretty hard as it's probably never been taken off)

And by the way good luck with the shift knob, I'm still trying to twist mine off, I swear its gonna break!!!!

Its not. Twist HARD counter clockwise and it will start to come off

yah me too im scared it gonna bust lol.... so ill i have to do is use a flat head screw driver and pop it under the black out line and pop it up and the shifter plate will come out with it then soak it in paint remover then under the grey it will be a shiney crome.... whats would be the best exaust to get also keeping in mind that i am only 19 and still in school please send me a link or sound clip
