High Flow Cat w Headers??

My 01 CLs has headers and I read in some of the posts a ways back that a high flow cat is a good compliment.

I run a stock exhaust but like the idea of adding a few hp to the equation via a more efficient cat.

Can anyone indicate if the hp gain is worth the cost? I would like to see a 5 horse gain on the mod....

run a test pipe and remove it for inspection, you can get one made for cheap.

What size is the collector on your headers?

Really you should upgrade the exhaust if you want to upgrade the cat, there's no point in putting on a high flow cat and choking exhaust flow with the stock piping and mufflers. I would suggest a test pipe or cat with the same OD as your headers collector and run a 2.5 inch exhaust. If the cat throws an O2 code you can get a piece that raises the sensor higher off the cat so it reads differently and keeps your CEL off.

We offer a high flow cat for the 2nd gen CL/TL. It should be good for 5-10 hp since the stock cat is fairly restrictive.
