taking the taillights apart? to do custom clear LED taillights? recently took apart the headlights for LED Halos & was curious if anyone has taken apart taillights or has pointers as to how? i used a heat gun rather than standard over to ease apart headlights.

does anyone know rather the taillights are a Red lens or Red insert to give the appearance of a Red lens? i know some of the older Honda's are Red inserts. thanks in advance!!

 

Tail lights are red plastic, and I have never seen it made in a clear plastic either. The tail lights are about the only light on our car that I haven't taken apart, so I am not sure, but I can imagine it would be similar to doing the headlights or fogs

 

There has a few guys attempt it and even fewer follow up with finished led tails. No one has ever done clear tails.

 

I think it would look rather strange.

Just get some 02-03 tails and get a LED to get rid of the 'egg yolk' effect.

 

clear tails would look really weird, especially if you have a visible led board

I want to do this, smoke the tails and put in some halos for tail lights

 

Now....there's something worth putting some effort into !!! Me likes. Yummy

 

I had a similar idea. But mine involves gutting aftermarket or maybe oem lights from another car .
