hello , i got a quick question..

i have a 2002 acura tl (base) (96000miles )and i wanted to swap the engine for type-s ( 40,000miles), now my questions is

Will the tranny from base tl hold up to type-s motor??


also is it possible to swap engine and tranny from 2008 type-s into a 2002 body??

 

It will bolt up to the trans, BUT the ecu and some of the wiring will have to be changed.
question 2: No one has done it yet but im sure its possible. There will be more involved

 

its probably better if i just wait till i have a type-s engine and tranny and ecu and then do the swap?

 

you dont need the trans to do the swap. The TL-P trans will bolt up. The motors for all intent and purposes are the same.

Yes. you need the Intake manifold, throttle body, and lower intake runners to get the full benefit, as well as the IMRC controller to actuate the variable runner plate

dont mean to hijack this thread and this is a really noobish question from me, but anyways,

what about just bolting a tranny up from a 3rd gen TL (auto or manual) and putting it on our engine, is that possible ?
