BrakeMotive Install

Hey all just had an update for ya. I got my brakemotive pads and rotors yesterday installed them and the difference from OEM to these is night and day. On with the pics. Went from rusty ugly to zinc coated classy.

Well there's a vibration when applying the brakes so it's only my guess.

@Kidduce

Unless the rotors warped there shouldn't be. Was it in the front or rear. I haven't installed the back yet. My darn rotors are stuck to the hub, i gotta have a shop install the rear as my hammer isn't big enough. Took the screws off tapped around the whole thing and no go. Ugh. I hope mine lasts longer.

I believe there are two holes across from one another that take a m10 or m8 bolt and you thread them in the rotor and it presses them off?

Well I did front and rear, and its the front that is vibrating so yeah.

I mean I know plenty of people have these so I don't know maybe hit and miss, or maybe it was just me. I don't drive hard though.

Tapped? BEAT them. You need a bigger hammer or pretend the rotor is a EX that you hate. BEAT them!

Thought this was a one time initial procedure?

Excuse my ignorance. But no I have not.

I do have one of those too, the ex that is. I'm gonna attempt to do it today.

i did a re-bed in procedure on my EBC setup and nothing changed. still warped and somewhat worse actually. i dont know how much i believe in the re-bed helping

im sick of spending too much money on rotors though. are the stock TL calipers a source for premature rotor warping? i have dual piston Legend calipers in the mail and im hoping they help this issue somewhat.

Shouldnt have done it right after install. Its always best to cycle them with normal driving for 500 or so miles. Ive never had a set of rotors warp doing that. Also are your wheels torqued properly? That can cause it too if a shop just drives them on with a impact

A lot of things cause it. Over torquing of the wheels, many say its good to bed the rotors and pads right away, years of racing and listening to those who have been doing it longer than me say to always drive 500 or so miles normal driving to heat cycle the rotors first and i have never warped a rotor since. Properly functioning calipers (ie make sure the sliders are all free and the slots the pads ride in dont bind or hold the pads to tightly, and brakes that are bled correctly

I used the bolt method and got em off. Thanks for that. The brake pedal feels 100% better and no train track sound from the back either. Yes I know my arch is destroyed was like that when i got the car. Also thanks again Sean from Brakemotive.

did u make sure to file the 3rd tab on the back of the pads so it sits evenly. when i did my brakes i remember reading on the install thread that if theres a lil center tab on the back of the pad u should file that down so the pad sits flush in the caliper

vvvvvvvvvvvvv heres the thread read 2nd last post

@ Nicks098

So far I love em. The break in process left a little extra brake dust in a day just as the front did when I put them on the car. No noise or anything. Will keep this updated.
