99-01 looking to add 02-03 manifold. ?'s

i know i'd have trouble with the Type-S cover b/c of hoses and other pieces under the hood... but will the 00-03 TL-P manifold go on with no issues.

heres the difference in the two for reference.

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

reason being, my friend at the dealer gave me the 02-03 engine cover pieces off of a guy who just did a Type S swap. so i have the cover which i like better.. but the cover will look dumb without the manifold b/c it'll have a big hole in the middle.

anyone do this before. or at least know if everything will fit ok?

thanks in advance.

cover is off a 02 TL-P

but the intake manifold is different then that of 99.

wanted to make sure the 02 manifold would go on with no issues. seeing how its only 200 bucks.

oh well i'll let someone else chime in with that answer

personally i like how the 99 manifolds look, and 200 dollars so you can use a different engine cover? i think u should save that for your coilovers

well the 02 lid covers the beggining to the intake. makes it much cleaner.

and the intake mani will cost much less... i meant its 200 brand new, sorry.
used, or Salvage yard.. next to nothing.

i'd be paying about as much as the cover cost really..

i want the type S mani. but it seems things in the engine bay would be in the way of the cover.

I wouldnt waste my time unless you converted the whole intake mani to the type-s.

its an option i suppose... but when i was at the acura dealer we tested the Type-S cover and in more then one place it had trouble fitting. width and length wise.. maybe this would turn out ok with the Type S manifold.

which runs 4-500 i think. not to mention i was told a while back that the 02-03's hood and fenders were raised slightly to accommodate for the Type S manifolds height. if i did the Type S conversion, it very well may not fit under the 99's hood.....

but if anybody can testify differently please chime in. it would be a nice mod for the future...

500 bucks could buy you a used type-s motor, and then you win.

Agree. No way in the world would i come close to spending that kinda dough for the upper intake mani. I picked up my type-s motor with 30k on it for 800.

And YES the hood closes. Look at my 6 speed thread.

yea i've seen some stores on the interweb selling the motors with everything including the ECU for like 5 bills....

alot dont include mileage which is an issue for me.

800 isnt bad at all for the low mileage though

Mileage really shoudnt be a issue unless its super high. It is after all a honda motor and these things are rock solid with zero issues.

Oh and use this site, many of them are listed with mileage
