Remote Window + Sunrood Opening form 3G

I would love to be able to hold the unlock button on my keys and have the windows and sunroof open. I know that the 3G TL has this feature and it doesn't seem like it would be horribly difficult to get thsi to work. Maybe even the dealer good get this mod installed for me?

Your only option for this would be thru aftermarket modules. The 2nd Gen TL multiplex isnt set up for those commands.

No. Wont work in our cars. Aftermarket modules are the only option.

Do you already have an aftermarket alarm on your car?

If not I recommend a clifford avantguard5 with rs,tilt, prox, start & ignition kill, and window rollup.

The only problem is that most modules control two windows max, so if you want to do all windows + the sunroof you would need 3 modules which does not = cheap. IIRC, the way the sunroof switch is set up, the "auto close feature" would actually vent your sunroof upon arming

i do not have an aftermarket alarm but 3 modules seems kinda like a waste of cash. is it worth my money to go for an aftermarket alarm?

The problem is, if you just trigger the wire that rolls down the window, there are no inhibitors built in. So unless you stop triggering it before it gets to the bottom of the track, the window motor will keep trying to roll down the windows, which could potentially burn up your motors.

Aftermarket window modules like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DEI-5...spagenameZWDVW

have inhibitors built in to protect your window motors so personally I wouldn't recommend it unless you're using one of those.

You could probably get 3 of those modules and get them to work with the factory remote, but it would involve quite a few relays and a shit ton of work.

I'm sure I could figure it out for you, but ideally I would need a tl to test everything on.

Well i have remote start with trunk popper and the window roll up and down feature.

I have python 990 remote start alarm and the DEI modules for the up and dow windows they go for about 50 bucks for two. I work at circuit city thats how much they were for me they might be a little more for public customers.

No matter what you get, you still NEED the modules for windows.
