I know that this topic has been covered on the forums before, because I've seen it myself. And I apologize for bringing it up again, but I can't for the life of me get back to that thread(s)!! I've searched. My question is this: what transmissions are compatible with the 2nd Gen TL? I'm pretty sure 04 and up TL's and Accords, but anything else? Other then the obvious 03 CLS-6.
ok, I've never really thought about this or paid much attention if it was discussed in past posts, but if the 04-08 TL trannys work in 2nd gens:
1) is it a direct replacement . . meaning no mods required?
2) and if so, why aren't the dealers replacing the bad 01-03 designs with the new ones?
Did I miss something here?

yeah, but when I saw the compatibility comment between 2nd gen and 3rd gen and I had to ask.
I know the hardcore motorheads prefer the 6spd, but some of us would like to stay auto, and a 3rd gen auto would be a great option to get away from the 2nd gen POS trannys.
Anyway, I may post a separate thread to see if it gets anywhere.

why yes it is Boy I miss that car . . . it was a blast . . designed and built the engine my self. It was a 327 .30 over with a small journal crank with 11.5-1 compression that would pull 8,000rpm in first and 2nd gear. Don't know what it would do in 3rd, I backed off at 6,500rpm and clocked mile markers to estimate speed at 166mph.

. . . sorry for hijacking the thread

So just to get this straight, an OEM 2.4L accord 5-spd for 03-07 will bolt up to a 2gen TL-P? I just wanna be sure before proceeding any further with this idea.
