Wire Mesh

has anyone replaced the plastic in the front bumper with wire mesh? if so, does it look good or not? thankz

u mean the black piece under the license plate between the fog lights i did i bought some mesh painted it white and installed it...thanx 2 .......it looks sweet as hell

wow that looks awesome! did u jus get the mesh from like home depot and put it in or did u have to order a special grille n bumper kit?

lol no, screw that... its home depot gutter guard. not the cheap **** you ususlly see... its 6 sheets of gutter guard shrinkwrapped i forget the manufacturer... its like $6

then i primed it and painted it. $10

actually thoes pics suck

i acually bought some mesh from a speed shop cost like 30 bux looks just the like the gutter mesh however its made stronger not as flimsy.................

yeah the chrome covered stuff from like autozone is good stuff, i just didnt want chrome, couldent find it any other way

Yeah i have HIDs, just some wierd lighting thing with the camera...

good stuff, i think im gonna go get me some, and do the same. my 2000 tl is monterey blue pearl. u think i should paint the grille black, charcoal, or blue?


to install it, u jus disassemble the grille from the hood right?

id say dark sliver, almost anthracite or blue for the grille... dont do black, if you do black, why bother?

to install it, you get real damn comfey and sit there and try to make that ***** fit perfectly. but yea, remove entire grille from hood and unscrew everything, theres like 20 screws on the back of that thing...

did you remove that license plate on the front of that car?.

wren't there holes in the bumper..

i want to this.

big old stupid license plate bracket in front.

and where did you get the mesh for the grill?..

nope didnt remove it. FL does not require front plates, and this is a full Florida car so its never had a front plate. even if they did require front plates, i would'nt do it. **** that.

got the mesh from home depot. its gutter guard. comes in packs of 6 sheets. dont remember who makes it tho....

how did you fasten the lower pieces?.

i've been looking the lower areas..

the hood piece looks doable..
but the lower?.

how'd you do that?.

the lower center piece is held by 2 cable ties painted silver, one tie on each end. the left and right sides are... umm.. well when you cut the thing to fit, the edges become sharp. so its cut just right so the edges dig in to the black plastic and that keep them secured very well.
