anyone know what the installation difference is between the tails with the harness and the ones without? want the clear tails, but not sure which one is the one i want.

 

If you order without the harness you will need to wrap tape around a couple of the bulbs so they fit snugly in the new light assembly. The actual assemblies are the same with or without the harness.

 

i see, so then the harness is for some of the bulbs and not the actually assembly itself. the harness is for the socket right? so that it fits into the opening snugly? just want to be sure i iknow what you're talking about.

 

Of the four bulbs on each tailight, it's only the turn signal socket that does not fit snug. The hole in the 2002 tail is a little too large.
I just installed my 2002 tails last week on my ride and what I did was to use this stuff called all weather crack seal. It looks like Play-do or putty and used it to hold the plug in place firmly.
You don't have to worry about it heating up because your flashers are never blinking or on for that long anyways. I hope this helps.

Buy the harness, well worth it....
