Post Will TLS get a design revamp in near future?

I am considering buying a TLS and I know that Honda/Acura likes to revamp their models every four years or so. For instnace, the current integra will be phased out next month and replaced by the RSX.

When did the TLS undergo its last major design revamp? Or, how long before Acura revamps the current TLS?

The current 2002 TL was a refreshening of the all new model that came out in 98 as a 99 model (I think). Acura/Honda usually do a major redesign every 4 years or so. So probably w/in another 2 years we'll see a new TL.

Cool

I wouldn't worry about the future design of the TL. Just be happy that you are driving one of the hottest looking car around. I know eventually it will become updated, but enjoy it while it last.

Honda was trying to move to a 5 year cycle for the current generation Accord, so I'd expect the same for the TL since they are off of the same platform. So the TL has been the same since 99 with a freshening for 2002. I wouldnt expect any big changes till the 2004 model at the earliest.

Hell, the TL Type-S didn't even EXIST until a few months ago! I would expect at least three model years before we see a major rehaul. Now, the rumors are already flying about a 6-speed manual transmission, and I could certainly see minor enhancements and cosmetic changes in the meantime.

I really don't care if they do change the TL-S's appearance in a couple of years. I think the car has very enduring looks that will last a while, just like the Legends did (they still look cool today).

I was leery of the CL's swooping taillights. I think those lenses will immediately date the car three years from now. The TL-S, though, should look great for at least another decade.

AMEN. If everyone worried about a redesign, no one would have a car!! Seriously though, the redesign is due for the 2004 model, so it should be out late 2003....

I read from Motor Trend's website about a month ago that there's word that there will be a redesign in either 2003 or 2004. They're not exactly sure of the date yet...but it is said that action will be taken.

agreed no earlier than 2004...refreshened 2002 models should mean that it will be around for at least 2 years.
