Socal28 owns a 2001 Silver/Black S2000, but he lives in LA so I doubt he can help with the snow question.

I have an S2000 and would not recommend driving it in the snow. The 50/50 weight distribution and the limited slip differential help a little, but like any other rear wheel drive car it is not ideal.

And you got no electrical traction control too. It's a fun little rocket for the track and weekend.

Yeah, I have one, but never driven in the snow, for that matter, not even in rain yet (the joy of being in Southern California ). I've heard that people who drive in the snow get snow tires for the S2000. Helps alot!

Okay, at first I did ordered the new M3, and then I got my deposite back. Then I looked at the corvette Z06. Still there were some problems with the 2001 Z06. Almost ordered the 2002 Electron Blue Z06. But I can't and don't want to keep two cars. So, the Vette isn't a good idea for me after all. BTW we got crazy amount of snow over here in Toronto as well.

So, here is what I wanted for my next car:

1. high rev engine, 7000+ redline
2. would love to have a turbo
3. must have awesome brake
4. no FWD, RWD is the best but I would go for the AWD just because of the winter
5. I need utility! I need enough space for cargo
6. must be a manual, 6spd the best.

So, what would my dream car be? The WRX. Actually I want the STi Wagon. Although they don't have the STi here yet, but I am pretty sure that they are coming in the near future. I got the TL and I am okay with it. So I will wait. If you want something, now. Then you can consider the WRX.

Keep in mind that it ain't no bargin. You get what you pay for just like the TL. You CAN chip the engine and with some easy mods you can push the WRX to around 300 hp. You will need a new intercooler for that. Then you can upgrade the brake and BABABA...

honestly, the car is kinda ugly, but you do get the utility. I mean it's got everything I want except style, and that can be a good thing, because you might get away with some tickets because you drive a wagon. Oh and I doubt that people will want to steal your car.

Oh, and in Toronto there's a I believe 99 2.5RS with STi engine. For real!!! I saw the car and saw the engine. That guy owns a shop that mod Subaru. So, to make a long story short. Even if you don't get the STi, you can upgrade the WRX to the point that it's very close to the STi except the 6 spd gearbox. That's gonna cost you more.

So, if you can live with the somewhat ugly look. You get a car that can hang with the new M3, and kill Type R, 330 all day long. With AWD for winter. For less they what you have to pay for the 330 let's say.

Oh, of course you lose the luxruy and comfort a bit. But hey like I said, you get what you paid for, and the WRX, and STi are worth it...

SL1200mk4 very good I like that you do have a strong point. The style of the WRX isnt all that bad Im pretty sure with a lip spoiler and rims a little bigger that car would look nice like in the commercial, the only prob that I have is, that car is getting popular around here and I know the dealer is only getting limit amounts of them so I hope when my time is right ill make it.

I think Car and Driver said 0-60 is 5.8 sec too
