Whos the quickest all motor TL-S?
Who has the quickest TL-S? I want to take them out .. Im not talking about some full prepped drag monster. Im talking like stock internals and what not.
I want to hit 13.xx (low 13) all motor
I know it can be done with the modifications i have been contemplating and wouldnt put much more stress on the tranny/motor (i know it would but not as mnuch as a supercharger lol)

I could meet you at that dragstrip on Highway50 on a chilly Wednesday night and we could find out...
Seriously, my time is pretty low. There are some NOS monsters running better than the sc'd cars I've seen, but I suppose we aren't talking about that.
A couple of the CL-S guys that can drive are running 14.0x and 14.1x but they are out West.

I don't think any all-motor (no s/c or NOS) TL-S can even make a 14 flat... r10apple seems to be the closest though. There's really not anything else "all-motor" he can throw on his engine except a V-AFC.

the best way to get into the 13's all motor are withthe 3.5 conversion

Not to go off-topic...but this statement means that the compression goes up as well right?

maybe by changing the gearing a little (you could do that with the lowest profile tires you can get and the lightest rims along with every mod for the tl, along with gutting the interior

All you guys trying to make a 13 sec TL is very admirable, but let's face it, it is extremely difficult to knock off a second from your quarter mile time. The only way you can get to 13 sec is either forced induction and/or 3.5L upgrade as fsttyms1. Remember the axiom: there is no replacement for displacement (or in our case, tons of money to blow on mods). In general, for every 100 WHP, you can knock off 1 second from your quarter mile time. So you guys do the math and see what mods needs to be done to get you there. To get a 13 sec car, you better have deep pockets.

There is at least one auto CL-S, he goes by TypeR, that is in the 13's, or I should say should be able to he is running 8.7 in the 1/8th which translates to a 13.3 or 13.4 quarter mile, if a auto cls can do it, a TLS can do it, oh but he does have the 3.5L conversion. Good luck, you are going to need more than i/h/e and ported and polished throttle body and intake manifold to get those numbers

There was one or two other guys, but they didn't have the same success.
Again, 13's are simply overly optimistic. My car seems to be a bit quicker than most, and even with very good tires (not slicks) and great driving on a sub 50 degree night and no humidity, I could probably get around 14.0 if I did the whole airletting of the tires, removing spare, great driving (someone other than me)...But, a car is a car and I run it with the spare and crap in it. It's a semi-luxury sedan that I also use to tote kids, groceries and golfbags, so I run it that way...
This is pretty much why I'll be going the CTS-V or G35c route in the near future. A new TL even with the sc will only be a 13.75 car in ideal situations and the new G35c should be 14.0 stock and the CTS-V 13.2 stock...Of course neither will remain stock very long...

You'll need custom pistons, otherwise compression will be too high.

I tired FOREVER to hit <14.0 in my auto CL-S. I had just about everything done to the car. I/H/E/Pulleys/UniChip/Springs/Struts/Sticky Tires. The best I did was 14.1 @ 100 MPH. I hit 101 once but I could never back it up.
I did it with a full interior. It's gonna be pretty damn near impossible, sorry. My 60' times were also pretty much the best out there as well. 2.0 and 2.1 consistantly.

damn that sucks. I will be port and polishing my head soon so we will see how that nets out as well as putting the remaining bolt ons on my car .. other then the UR pulley. Im going to wait on that.

I'm still using the stock block and stock internals, but yes I am in the low 13s. 13.30 to be exact.
The 3.5 conversion requires the crank, rods, and custom pistons. Obviously you'll need all the bearings and other associated hardware as well. If the OEM pistons are used, the increased stroke of the engine will bump compression beyond sane amounts (think over 12.0:1) A compression ratio of 10.2:1 would be ideal.

If someone is trying to stay all motor though, they would want a higher compression. Something like 11.5:1 on a 3.5L converted motor would definately get you into the 13's. That's how the S2000 and Type R are making so much horsepower.
But our biggest enemy here, besides the auto trans, is weight. Let's face the facts, its gonna take a butt load of money to pull off 13's all motor without a plethora of cash. I'm not saying that it would be wasteful to do so, in fact, I would love to see it done and probably will try to do it myself later on down the line, just saying its going to be expensive.
