Who else has seatbelt tensioners not working?

Im sure acura will cover this but most of the times if i have to make an urgent stop or if i take my seatbelt, it doesnt do either of the following

1. stop and catch the belt
2. auto wind back up

anyone else with this problem?

I know there is a recall on something to do with the seat belts. I had it done on mine and I can't remember why there was a recall on it. Check your Owner Link and it should be listed if your car is available for the recall.

Ok, the recall was for the latch, but they replace the whole seat belt to fix it. If you haven't had it done yet, you could just get the recall done if your car is one that is affected by it?

Hey everyone, the seatbelt is a safety item, lifetime warranty, take it back to the dealership, had it done to my gf 90 legend a year ago.

I had this problem...the dealer said it was because of dirt build up, so they just "cleaned" it up. that made no sense, so I took it to another dealer and they replaced the whole latch and belt. works fine now...

YES. My understanding is that safety items are lifetime warranty. My dealer told me that they are not allowed to make any type of repairs on seatbelts - Acura requires them to replace the entire piece, even if they know what the problem is.

I had the front seatbelt replaced on my gf's 14 year old legend under warranty. But I think it also has to do with what dealership you take it to. Some service people are just lazy. I think you can call Honda and ask what their policy is for safty devices and you can use that to your advantage when you go into the dealership. That way they can not say that corperate is wrong and they are right.

my seatbelt takes forever to wind back up. I guess I should take it in and have the dealership look at it!

SRS = Supplementary Restraint System = Airbags

No, it is not your seatbelt - that has a different dash light that only illuminates when you are not buckled in.

If your tensioners aren't working take it to the dealer. All seatbelts have a lifetime warranty. Federal regulation.

Not entirely true. The SRS light WILL light up due to faulty seatbelt latch sensors, which I believe are part of the recall. I'd have to look it up to give exact details, and I'm too lazy at the moment. You're right about the acronym, but you must realize that the airbags supplement the seatbelts, and the seatbelts supplement the airbags so SRS = Seatbelts AND Airbags.

On topic, my TL-P (2002) mades a "CLICK" noise and jerks a little every time I take it off or turn the car off. It sounds like something is releasing?

That's a bunch or crap, so they are telling you that they will only fix it when it stops working...it maybe too late for your safety at that point. Call Honda customer supput at (800) 382-2238. Their goal is to keep the customer satisfied and safe. Dealerships are only looking to make money. Tell the support that the seatbelt retracts slow and that it takesa while to tighen up.

Funny this came back up today. While mine was replaced SEVERAL months back, it is now doing it again. Calling the dealer today. It's not like I am hard on the seatbelt - you sit, you click it on, drive, and remove it. Repeat. Frustrating this is my second go-round.

Cheers.

I had this same problem, both front seatbelts wouldn't retract properly, the dealer said they are dirty and replacing both of them under warranty, and i had looked in the warranty manual before i went, all safety items, airbags, seatbelts etc. are covered under life time warranty so i was prepared to show them just in case. Took her in when they got in, 1hr later she was complete and better than ever!! They know of this problem, he didn't even hesistate to get them replaced.

Just got off the phone with 2 dealers, both said the samething. Most likely thing to be covered under warranty is the latch.
