Post What's a Good Battery For my TL with Bang.

I think my battery is about to go belly up. Everything has been flickering really bad. My stereo system really did her in. Any suggestions on a good brand and how much cranking amps should I look for?

Sorry, but when it comes to the insides of a car, I'm pretty much clueless. Do u think that the alternator needs to be replaced and what else can I do to prevent this from happening again? Thanks for your reply

If you want the best battery, the Optima, they provide 800 cold cranking amperage. They will last forever too and it is a dry cell battery.

Get Stiffening caps if you don't have them already. I built a 1200 watt, 156db system in my Talon with a stock battery and alternator. I had (2) 1 Farad caps in the car and the lights never even flickered when the bass hit, and let me tell you, that $hit hit HARD!

Optima is the best hands down...
but check all your grounds
then buy some capacitors
then check the alternator...

Thumbs up

Optima is the best. Five years in my old Toyota with no problems. Before I got the Optima battery I went thru three battery's and three Alternators. One thing to look for is a bad ground wire. I put a number 4 gauge ground wire from the battery to the frame and it made a big difference when the stereo was cranking.

i running w/ an optima yellow top. no problems yet. i have 2 lighting audio 1 fared caps. i took them out because it takes to long for them to charge, and you get spikes of current blowing through your stereo. not good, i blew 4 sets of diamond audio hex components because of the caps.

I paid $144 for the red top. It's at 800 cranking amps.
