What about LEDs on ebay?

Im currently working on making every light in my car blue instead of that ugly greenish-yellow color. I was wondering if anyone every used LEDs bought from ebay? They're really really cheap compared to some sights on the net. It comes out to around $15 to $20 including shipping for 100.

Im not talking about stock bulbs, im talking about radio, shifter, etc. I've already replaced the climate control lights with the LEDs from LEDautomotive.com. Its great but they dont offer any for the radio and shifter.

The radio, shifter, etc. all require LEDS.... not bulbs, you'll need a soldering iron, the solder itself.. I have 100 blue, 2,500 resistors and 100 white leds sitting in my desk if you want them. Just PM me and i'll fill you in on a DIY and pictures of people who've already done the conversions.

The LEDs on ebay are fine. I've bought from sellers besthongkong (they have a website under the same name) and hkemart, and both have worked great - none have blown since I installed them into my other ride last summer. If you can, try to get 3mm LEDs cuz sometimes 5mm ones are too big. With some of my spaces, I had to dremel down the LEDs to make them fit into smaller spaces.

On a side note, even though you're using blue, white LEDs are really hard to color match to each other cuz they're made by mixing other colors. So some white LEDs are more yellowish and some are more blueish. So if you or anyone want to do a white conversion be sure to buy plenty from one buyer so you don't have problems color matching later on.

As I stated in a previous post, I've already replaced my climate control with LEDs from LEDautomotive.com. My setup kinda looks like yours without the panasonic after market HU. I want to keep my factory radio, so I want to replace the bulbs inside the radio with blue LEDs. Thnx for the help joe and toast, by the way. I'm following the instructions from this site http://www.n4te.com/images/acura/leds/guide/ , if there is an easier way, please let me know.

I was thinking about this, but they charge around $2-$3 per LED. Whereas the offer on ebay is around $20 for 100. I personally like LEDautomotive.com but its a little pricey.

Going by the writeup (I've Oooo and Aaah over many many times), try to match the size of the LEDs - eg: 3mm or 5 mm - for each LED location since some of the spaces in the switches are kinda tight. See if you can get the specs on the LEDs. In particular, check if you can match the wavelength of the blue light (in nm) and the lumens output (in mcd) so you get the same brightness and color.

^ good point.

The leds I have if you still want them range from 6000 to 8000 mcd. the higher you go in number the brigther the LEDS will be. You'll love them

... P.S. NEVER go past 8000 mcd... I say this because no matter what state you're in, DOT regulations limit you to only that much. Anything higher than 8000 doesn't pass state inspection.
