Type S? Mods?

If its a type S the you should beat him. If its a P then it maybe close. How far are you racine? 1/4 mile?

i used to own a 99si, it was fast but the tl will take it. just dont let him get a BIG jump on you. once you really get moving you will really pull from him

I heard SI is slower than both of sedan and type-s.
SI is only civic after all...

Diddo.....Si's are slow.....c'mon....0-60 in 7.2 sec? I don't even think it'll accomplish that much. I have yet to see an si run better than a 16.0 quarter mile at the track WITH intake/header/exhaust. Your TL-P bone stock should run mid 15's(best) to high 15's(worst).

i ran 15.5s with my si but it wasnt consistant, you had to drive it like you stole it to get those. and the launch was the hardest. the tl-p will beat it i have raced afew since i bought my tl, and a tl-s will def beat it

the vtec in the 99 kicks in in a different rpm than the 00+
My vafc sense the vafc signal from 3500, so i guess in a 99 model vtecs kicks in in 3500.
I really want to confirm this tho, any other member have vafc in their 99?

First of all, you will take from the line regardless of whether you have a TL-P or a TL-S. Second, you will get smaller and smaller to him once you get up to 70. That isn't even a race. Like fsttyms1 said, you are going to pull on him. Everyone here kept telling me I was going to miss my ricer civic when I got my TLS. Well I do, but I've raced some of the old gang and the Si (not surprisingly) was no kind of match. It wasn't worth my gas. So no worries. Oh, never mind, I see you beat him anyway, great way to humble him!
