Question Typical Tranny Issues

Hey everybody. Been stressing a lot about my tranny lately. Going into second or third gear the car will do this stuttering thing before it goes into gear. You can acually feel the car stuttering under you, like youre hitting something. Has anyone had this problem or know whats wrong? Also does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I've heard about these infamous trannies but I was hoping it wouldnt happen to me. Still kinda new to the TL so any help is good help.

Our 2nd Gen and even the early 3rd Gen TL's have all been plagued by their problematic trannys. Some have weathered the issue better than others, but it's an inherent design flaw of the actual transmission.

There has been numerous threads with many posts on this subject. Just try a simple search and you'll find a considerable amount of info pertaining to the causes and cures of our beloved TL's tranny ailments. Happy reading !!!

That's what my odyssey did before its trans died. You can try to prolong it with new fluid and cleaning pressure switches etc but you should plan to replace it soon.

My 01 Tranny did the exact same thing at 222,000 and by 222,500 the tranny was done. Your tranny is going out, so I would prepared to drop about 3,500....

He would be mental to Drop 3500 for another shitty trans...

TO OP: Get an Accord V6 Trans from 2006 to 2007 (It must come from a V6 model) they come around for 800bucks (If lucky) to 1500 bucks depends on shipping too... If you install it yourself then the cost ends there.

If you need to get it installed then sum up another 1K Tops...
The Accord V6 option is the best since they completely fixed the problem that we had.. If you rebuild your trans it will crap itself out again and again and again..

I recently got my tranny rebuild for the 4th time for 2k out my pocket. I am at 107k miles and plan on keeping the car until im done with college. I am starting sophomore year in less than a month. If I was planning on keeping it longer I woud've went with the 06-07 swap or just buy a new car. Not practical to make payments on a newer car when I don't have a full time job and still going to college. Make a decision based on your current situation and what you plan on doing in the future.

The rebuild tranny should last another 3 years at least which should get me through college HOPEFULLY *jinx*
