Unhappy Type S Gauge On My 00 Tl... Having Problems (please Help!!!)

Hi guys;
I recently installed a 2002Type S Gauge(cluster) on my 2000 TL and right after instalation I noticed my SRS airbag light remains on after starting the car!!! I just unpluged the connectors from my old gauge and connect those to this type S gauge, NOTHING ELSE. So I am supprised why this happened?????
Also, my Temprature is not accurate anymore after that,.for example when I start up the car it shows 90 and then start going down almost 10-15 !!!!(goes to 75-80) for example!
Any idea why is that???
BTW, I tried to put my original cluster back on but still SRS IS ON!!!!
PLEASE HELP

THANKS IN ADVANCE

You have to reset the SRS light. It's baiscally a sequence of turning the key and using a jumper on one of the connectors under the dash. Search for the forum for the sequence, I don't rememeber it.

The SRS light is set off mainly becuase you were messing around with the wires and wire harnesses. So there isn't anythign wrong with your SRS light

As for the temp..I don't konw how to help you tehre.

i didnt think they were direct plug and play.

But do a search on srs resetting and you will find how to do that. As far as teh temp, what is the temp supposed to be 90? oe 75-80?

The temp is supposed to be 75-80 but first it shows 90 and then after 3-4 minutes it adjust itself!!!
Is you temp gauge acurate??? Could it be the temp sensor?? how can I change it? where is it located?
thanks

The type S uses a different sending unit, you will need to get that for the gauge cluster to work properly unless you are very good with electronics and know how to build a stepper to adjust the input voltage.

Just be carefull with the sending unit. If I'm correct I think the voltage info for the temp gauge is comming from the ECU not the TEMP sending unit. You might fry the ECU if you short circuit the wire, I'll have to look it up in the wiring diagram it you need more info (I hate reading that shit).

If my car has been driven its always high when it starts up due to the thermometer being infront of the radiator. once you start moving then it goes to the accurate temp

Damn thats alot of work for switching the TL-S gauges in a TL-p. Why dont you just get white reverse glow gauges and call it a day. Thats what i did, and im planning to paint the needles silver like the type-s. Oh and just change the lights to led to make it brighter.
