Removing rear seat

I need to remove the rear bench to wire my Sirius correctly. Any secrets? Someone told me I just pull it up and slide it out, but I don't want to screw anything up.

well whoever told you that was right but first there are 4 bolts holding the seatback down. they're more or less evenly spaced starting from where the bottom right corner of the backrest meets the corner of the buttrest.

get in the car and push the seat cushion down in the corner were the backrest meets it and you should see it. it's a 10mm bolt. use an extension and crank that betty out. then you'll find the other 3 evenly spaced as you work towards the bolt in the left corner. after this remove the seatcushion (bottom part) by sliding your hands under it and pulling it firmly but not aggressively in the corners. you'll feel the friction-latches holding it down release. pull the bottom seat out and place it somewhere.

next unbolt the anchor for the middle passenger seat belt (i think it's a 15mm but i can't remember). you'll probably want a long-handled ratchet for leverage since this one is tough to get out. move this belt up on the back parcel shelf out of the way and move the left and right passenger belts over so you can lift the seatback straight up. you'll see what i mean when you start.

to re-install just slide the seatback into it's holders and tighten the anchor for the middle seatbelt, reinstall the bottom cushion (push down on it on the left and right seat cushions towards the front to engage the friction-latches, you'll hear it click when it goes in) and replace the 4 little bolts in the seatback. you can do it yourself but it's easier with two people to line up the seatback sometimes. hope this helps!

Remove 3 screws from the back of the bottom cushion, then pull up the bottom cushion from the outter corners. Lift up the backup cushion high enough then tilt the top out first to remove it. 1 crew in the middle, on the right of the armrest - hidden from behind, the other 2 are on the sides where the seat belt links end on the bottom.

Just for my own information, what does your set up look like?

Where did you put the "main unit" and how are you mounting it?
How are you connecting it to the speakers? ( tape input or some sort of RCA connection)
Are you putting the antenna on the outside of the car?

I wanted something small and hidden. I hate the look having a huge aftermarket unit bolted to the dash or kick panels. Anyway, I picked up the new Xact Visor for $50 at CC. I'm too tall to attach it to the visor, it is annoying there and in my view. I am mounting it vertically to the left of the head unit with the included mounting stand. You can barely see it, but I can reach it with my right hand, and the remote can be used if I hold it down around my waist or aim it at the steering wheel.

I am running the power under the center console to the acc power in the armrest, the antenna through the center console, under the rear carpet, under the back seat, but I'm not mounting the antenna on the exterior car. I drove around for the last 2 days with it on the rear deck next to the 3rd brake light, and there has been no dropouts. Right now I'm using the FM modulator, but I'm still trying to find out if a Blitzsafe adapter will work with navi AND 6 disc in-dash AND OnStar.

I'll try to post some pics when I get it all done.
