sounds good

but something always follow with it things like that
need a stronger tranny to hold up,
intercooler, all the other goodies
if your thinking bout gettin that turbo might be cheap
gettin it into your car you need the cash!

aren't you going to need a custom cast exhaust manifold...that in itself should cost bucks. The price of a manifold is enough to prevent most from going turbo until an actual kit comes out for a specific application...

you're also going to need custom plumbing...from the turbo to the intercooler then to the intake tract.

you're also going to have to get the boost pressures tuned...

most importantly, i would try to reduce compression if you are going to go forced induction...try to find a thinner head gasket...especially with the hi-lo cam lobes of the VTEC system...

fuel should be okay with stock injectors...you might want to adjust with a fuel/air ratio controller...

Test drove a TL-S today (replacing my '00 TL with either that or a '02 Maxima...which is probably what will happen). During the drive, the dealer said that Comptec makes a supercharge for the Type S...only adds like 70 HP due to issues with the tranny being able to only take that much more...forgot to have him show it to me when we got back cause he said some one with a CL-S had one there...

I'm calling BS on that one...nobody has a supercharger in their TL or CL. Well not that I know of.

Talking

Ok, that's Amirsafdari, I don't believe he has the Comptech Supercharger even though he has it on his signature. PM him, he also comes to this site once in awhile too. He's one of the jokers on the site, and I seriously doubt he has it, more like a joke.

That's cool that you could get the t03/to4 turbine from a skyline, but the rb26dett is an inline 6. You are probably better off taking the turbo from a later model 300zx (it is a v-6) which would make it more reasonable since the tl is a v-6. The 300zx is twin-turbo with turbo's on both exhaust manifolds and two seperate intercoolers. I've haven't seen any v-6 turbo front wheel drive cars either.

I agree with the other posts that the supercharger (when or if it is available) would be a better option.

Getting a turbo is the cheapest thing you can do. I would just go to a custom turbo shop...and ask them what it would cost for them to design a turbo set-up for you. I heard that Rick Case Acura tried it, but were blowing up too many motors. If you lived in SoCali...you could probably try to elicit support for a turbo kit from the big turbo companies out there...they always do custom apps. Figure about 10K if they only charge you for parts and minimal labor.
