Talking Killed an SC4 last night

Last night I was out easting with my girl and I knew I was going o get in trouble when I walked out the door to go to my car. As soon as I got outside there were three guys standing outside my car looking in the windows - so naturally I pushed the panic button on the keyless and they all three jumped about 2 feet.
When we got to the car I shut it off and got inside. They jumped in an Lexus SC400 and asked if I wanted to have a go at his ride. I said, "Sure but you're gonna lose." But as I thought he didn't believe me and took my factual comment as a threat. So I agreed and had the consent of my girlfriend (which is unusual) because she thought they were being *******s. I knew I would win if it was stock - plus he had three people in his car vs. 2 in mine. We left the parking lot and the first light we came to we lined up. I backed up about half a car length and yelled to him, "you'll need at least this much of a head start." He just looked at me blankly. Green light - were off I evened it up in first, by second I pulled to about a car length and then by 90 i was about 3 car lengths ahead. I braked at 90 and he flew past me but gave the peace sign which was cool. My girlfriend gave me a victory present, but lets just say it would go in another forum.

easy, is your GS faster than the TLS ? I thought the SC would be a hair faster than the GS (because of weight), and even faster than the TLS ? What do the mods on your car put your 0-60 at ?
Thanx

Oh jeez, now 1SickLex will be here any minute!

'9X - '97 SC400 ran 260hp/270lb-ft. (1/4's in 15.X)
'98-'01 ran 290hp/300lb-ft. (1/4's in 14.5-14.8).

Both are heavy.

Thanx Peter, it didn't say in his post what yr. the SC was, so is it possible that a newer one should beat the TLS (for argument sake, assume the drivers were twins !!)?

I posted a while back how I destroyed my friends 95 SC400 with dual HKS exhausts. It was an easy kill.

It was a pre-97 model and it wasn't even close. I slaughtered him.

SC400 0-60 6.9-7.5
TL-S 0-60 6.2-6.7 (with my mods maybe 6.0-6.5?)
GS400 0-60 5.7-5.9

Cool

The ONLY Lexus that is guaranteed to beat the TL-S (unless the driver of the Lexus is a putz) is the GS430. I don't know about the new SC430, which has the same engine, but it is a bloated, heavy car. It's pretty even between the GS400 and the TL-S. I don't care what anybody says - I speak from experience.

Couldn't of said it better.

Now for a sake of a gentle discussion, u may have beat the SC but you did not smoke it, and you suddenly stopped at 90mph yeah.......

Yeah and the only Lexus guaranteed to beat a tl is a GS yeah WRONG ANSWER!!!!

The LS 400 and SC 400 are no jokes, stop using magazine references.....Have u driven any? Huh? Okay? NO? SHUTUP!

Now I never doubt a kill so do not get that part wrong, but if you guys think it's just the GS to worry about......

I have a feeling this guy is nuttin' but a short, puny and stocky 160 lb. guy and have a tremendous chip on his shoulder, stirring trouble everywhere he goes. Do you look like George Constanza?

You don't come into another car marque's forum and start thrashing all the residents in their own turf. WTH are you thinking?

Actually there will be no more flaming, either directly by you or instigated by you on my board. It ends here.
