TSX lights

I drive a 2001 3.2TL and have a problem parking my car outside anywhere i go. As my front lights have been stolen 3 times. Does anyone know if this will be the same problem for the TSX? My wife is shopping for a car and she fell in love with the TSX so knowing that i have a problem with the front lights being stolen on my TL told her to hold untill i get some answears.

Also if anyone knows if this problem exists on TLs 2002 and above?

Thanks

It exist on all 99 and above TL's including 03's and CL's

Acura knew the problem and made the headlights harder to take from the car, but just the other day I saw a TSX with one headlight missing, I guess they had a hard time because only one was taken.

I love the TSX too. My advice move out of new york

if your looking to get the tsx, i suggest you get the accord v6 instead, then get a set of hids for the accord. basically the tsx is the accord with a higher output 4, but i think the v6 has much more torque and probably smoother, not to mention the accord v6 is cheaper.

my 2 cents

I appreciate your replies to my post. I guess the TSX is now out from our list. That is sad because it’s a great car. Acura will lose a lot of sales because of that probably.

And Comet2404 sorry no offense to you but when my car was outside no one asked me if they could take the lights they just took them and guess what it only takes 30 seconds to pop each light.

Thanks Guys.

Before I ever go to NY I will retro fit a taser kit to my headlights. It will have schock sensors from an alarm system that activates it. One for each light. The when I get back to my car and see the fuker lying in front of my car I'll take a big shat on him and then drive over him a few times then be on my merry way.

i seriously think if they like our tl headlights, they will love the tsx one's cause it's even projectors. anyways, did u consider the maxima? 265 hp and loads of stuff that the tl doesn't offer and at a price that's almost the same as a tls with navi, only thing i hate is the nose.

getting slightly off topic here, i cant quite figure out where the TSX fits into the Honda/Acura picture. Its built on the japanese accord frame which is smaller that the American one. The new EX v6 Accord has a very nice interior and the dash lighting is bright like a Lexus. So for more money, you could buy a TSX, get a 4 cyl 200hp, smaller interior car OR you could get a larger car with the Accord with 40hp more, for less money.... something doesnt make sense here. Yes, you get the Acura name vs the Honda name, but given all the squeaks and rattles the TL has, the nameplate doesnt give you anything better than you'll get with a Honda.

And beleive me, I am NO fan at all about the styling of the new Accord, but then again i really dont like the styling of the new TL either. And then there is the whole Mazda 6 and Acura TSX looking virtually identical in the front....

i can pretty much tell you right now that there will be a ton of people out there that will put accord euro-r stickers and emblems on their tsx very soon............

I went to the Nissan delearship and set in the new Maxima and it look to cheap inside. the whole layout of the dashboard looks cheesee. thats just my opinion.

Anyone if you had a choice to get a car in Acura TSX class what would it be?

I test drove the A4 1.8 and the 3.0 and both of them are nice of course the 3.0 is much faster and less nosey when you accelerate. But the price for the brand new A4 3.0 is too expensive and the price on Audi sinks like a tank in a water. I worked with a used car dealer for few months bringing cars from the auctions and seeing that a $30K car looses its value to fast comparing to Acura, Toyota and others.

I will go to the Infiniti dealership tomorrow to check out the G35.

What about the Volvo S60 what do you think of that car? I set in it and looked very nice but have not yet test drove the car.

thanks

Yes, the new TL, 3rd generation, which will be out on the showroom floor one of these days soon. We've all seen the pictures of it from the autoshow and the final release version will look pretty much like it except for no 19" wheels, no camera side mirrors and no air jet wipers.

So what was your point of highlighting my quote?

I am one such interested party who values the superior chassis dynamics and weight balance of the euro Accord derived platform. The Accord will never be directly compared with a 3 series BMW as is the TSX.

Not questioning your interest in the car, but HERE WE GO YET AGAIN with the damn comparisons of Acura to the BMW. This has been debated so many times that i Dont want to even broach the topic anymore. Like someone so eloquently said the last time this came up about 2 weeks ago "There are so many TL owners who compare their car to the BMW 330, but I have NEVER heard a 330 owner compare their car to an Acura TL."
The TSX may be a nice car for the money, but its not in the same league as the 330, just as the TL wasn't either. I know Bimmers start leaving puddles when they get over 100k miles, but heck, my TL didnt even make it to its 1.4 year old birthday before the tranny went. Acura is no bimmer, its just a souped up Accord that gives you a little more finish for a decent price. The 330 is a $10k+ more expensive car. Comparing it to other cars in the low 40k range makes sense. Comparing it to a $27k-28k(?) TSX is just silly.

What I am comparing is the form factor and the ride/handling compromise. I went from a Prelude VTEC to the '99 TL. Really didn't want that big of a car. As you said, really didn't want to spend another $10k for a 3 series. The TLS was half of the equation I wanted: stiffen up the suspension, speed up and increase the steering effort. What was left was to cut out a foot of length and several hundred pounds of bulk. The TSX meets those objectives for me. Yes, I have seen and driven one. Car and Driver summed up my sentiments by saying that the TSX handles with the spirit of the Prelude. That is what I am looking for.

To make sense to you, the Honda Accord here in germany is the Acura TSX ??????????? Same in japan....http://world.honda.com/ACCORD/history07.html

So I don't know what the accord in the US is???????????

Acura TSX = Japanesse/european Accord.
