Hey guys, i know our cars have a notorious transmission problem but can someone explain the details and symptoms of it to me. Im starting to notice a shake in my seat around 2500-3k rpms in 2nd and 3rd gear, getting a little scared, I'm hoping my seat is just lose or some bs but i have a slight gut feeling that the tranny is giving out. Thanks for the help.

 

Completely Unrelated to the trans issues... Shakes mean you got to check your Mounts.


Trans issue is pretty obvious (RPM Fluctuation and Slipping shifts) other than this is not related to a failing trans.

update, the car idles a bit high on a cold start but after its on for a but it goes down to a normal idle. Also its the whole car shaking not just my seat

 

Worn axles check for play, Loose lug nuts tighten them or Torn engine mounts.

 

Yeah, check the mounts and also find the reason why the idle may be high or rough.

 

Listen to the trans for whirling noise during cold start, if u hear loud noise thats symptoms for ya.

The trans gets stuck in 2nd gear or wont shift beyond 2k rpm?
