Tranny problems!

I never thought it was going to happen to me but the other day I was driving on the highway and I couldnt accelerate! Then later on I tried putting the car in reverse and it just gave me a low whine

So I took it to the dealer on 441 in Miami, he tole me to get a loaner I needed to make an appointment. I pointed out to him that I couldnt possibly wait for an appointment since my car wasnt road safe.

He gave me a rental, a pickup truck (what the fuck?) and told me it would take more than a week to fix.

This really pisses me off.

Are you paying for the rental truck? What's wrong with the car? Who's paying for the repair?

No, the truck rental is paid for by the dealer.

The repairs are under warranty - I've only driven 28,000 miles!

Has anyone gotten lease payments reduced for the time they were without their Acura?

I'm not a car expert, I'm a real estate investor. What's wrong was that when I was driving it and trying to accelerate, the car would not respond. The RPM's would increase but the speed would not.

Acura cut me check for my loan payment when I had my first tranny replacement, but I suspect that's because the dealer had the car for nearly a month.

OK, I have enough information now to understand what's going on.

Sounds to me like they're taking decent care of you. If you're not paying for the repair or the rental, the only real concerns are:

1)The tranny went bad. Sucks, I know, but that's what a warranty is for.
2)You didn't get an Acura loaner. Typically these are all given out to appointment customers before any 'emergency' cars get towed in.

I know the situation sucks, but bear with them. You'll get your baby back soon. If the truck is really that bad, you can always call them & ask for them to reserve the next one that is available.

And I wouldn't expect Acura to cover a lease payment with all the trannies they are paying for, not to mention rental bills.

I recieved a check for 500.00 AND a 1500.00 Acura Gold Care Package which is basicly a 7/100k warr on the whole car, with my 2nd tranny replacement. (I'm now on tranny #5 and am getting 29k for my car w/over 95k miles on it)

Thats awesome, but 5 trannies? What the fuck!?

I think what I'll do is keep quiet unless it takes more than 2 weeks to fix. Then I'll start asking Acura to take some better care of me.
