I have a silly question...where does the tranny fluid go? in the same hole where u check it? Also my check engine light just went on the day after i checked the fluid to see it was dry im scared now...anyway the reason i ask is i cant find a skinny enough funnel to get in the hole where you check it pls. help

Welcome to the forum.

There is a Filler bolt on the top side of the tanny for fluid. If you have brought your car in for teh recall work then you need to remove the oiljet kit to fill it. Is it the check engine light or maintance required light?

You don't fill it throught the dipstick hole. There's a bolt that reads ATF on top of the tranny. That's where it goes.

If you had the oil jet kit done, you would not see that bolt because the oil sprayer goes there.

I just did mine, and it was easier to fill through the sensor just behind the oil jet.

The dealership replaces the ATF bolt with the oil jet kit. If you had the recall done, you won't have that bolt anymore.

Yes - you can just bring it in. The dealership should be able to look up your VIN and see what recalls have been done on it already.

There have been several recalls - not all are tranny.

Sure you can fill it thru that hole but why? it takes forever and HONDA has a actuall filler hole where the fluid is supposed to be poured in

Next time id just remove the 1 bolt that holds teh oil jet in and fill it there. less likely to damage any thing lik ethe sensor.

Do we have to bring it to the dealer to get the VIN ran or can we run it some how ourselves?

You can find out what recalls are on your car by going to Acura Owners Link

If you bought the car used, you'd never know which ones were already fixed. The dealership would have to run the VIN and tell you. You can probably get that done over the phone, id think.
