oh yea also. could i just do the following?

drain
fill
turn on car and go through gears
put in park again turn off car
drain... and so on?
or do i actually need to take the car out for a drive? t
the reason i ask is cause i jack my car using 2 jacks cause the stock wont lift front end up so it is really exhausting to lift the car up. the horor it takes just to lift the front end gives me migrains.

When you drain & fill, about 3 qts comes of fluid comes out (I think the trans total capacity is about 7.5 qts). If you do the d&f a couple of times you will have changed out nearly all of the fluid. I'm not sure I understand why you're asking if you should cycle the trans through the gears or drive the car (if it's to mix the fluid properly, I prefer to drive the car). Bottom line is the trans only needs a d&f every 45K miles for normal conditions; there's really not a lot more you can do (apart from the extended warranty oil jet fix) to keep the trans healthy.

Do you know where the oil jet kit is? there is a 12 mm bolt that holds the oil jet inplace. remove it and pull straight up. there is nothing to mess up doing it and it can only go in one way (other wise you wont be able to fasten it down) then just stick a funnel in the hole and poor away

i bought 12 quarts of tranny fluid so i am planning on d&f 4 times. I got my tranny fluid flushed by a dealer at about 15,000 miles i now have 28,000 and the trans fluid is brown. so i am changing it out completly now, this is sad that it doesnt even last 30,000 for changes. If you were to any of my family memebers to change the tranny fluid every 20,000 miles they laugh and 10,000 they would call you stupid. Yet we all know this tranny is just pathetic so every 15,000 is not suprising to me.

Yup, I've always said that kris is one of the best, if not THE best guy on this forum. His knowledge on cars is one of the most extensive I have ever seen. I'm in the business, and often I'll call up kris when I'm unsure. 99 times out of 100 he has the right answer for me!!

Kris is a great guy, and we can all learn a lot from him. You rock buddy...

I'd give you more rep points, but I already gave you too many!!! Don't worry, as soon as I spread the wealth around, I'll be back to give you more.

Take care.
