tranmission slipping

my transmission has been slipping for about 4 months now, but now im starting to feel the shifts even more than before. However, whenever i use SS i dont feel the small jerk when shifting gears. How long do you think i can ride out on this transmission before it goes kaput? Its a 99 tlp w/ 104k miles and if it came down to a new tranmission would there be any alernatives besides shelling out 5 grand on another tranny from the dealer? only optimistic replies please, i dont think i can handle any negativity considering im in a financial crunch atm

Honeslty, that transmission can fail on you at any given time, so its better if you replace it now or pretty soon, you dont want to get stuck on a highway or somewhere far from home and then pay towing charges.

if its slipping that long im supprised its lasted this long. You have 3 options.

1). Used (dont know what your getting)
2). oem replacement (most expensive)
3). Have yours rebuilt. (find a good shop it will be reasonable in price)

mine kinda feels the same way also when I keep it in regular auto. its almost like the computer isnt shifting it right because when I put it in the manual shift mode - it shifts perfectly everytime. BTW I have about 115k miles on my original '99 tranny

Mines was slipping too and then I did just the 3 qt tranny flush. It is still slipping but less now. I talked to the tech at ACURA and he told me to flush it and drive it for a week and then flush it again. If it still slips bring it in and they will take a look at it for me. I have a 2002 TL-S with about 91,000 miles on it and good thing it started acting up now then after 100K because I still have warranty on my tranny......

same here. when in full auto mode it slips, but when I gate shift or SS it never ever slips. this causes me to believe there is something wrong with the TPS sensor, I also need a front motor mount and that causes a jerk when I shift into 2nd every time, sometimes into 3rd too. the jerk is barely noticeable when gateshifting or SS. I drive spirited and have all tha bolt-on's and my 99 has 135k+ on its original tranny. My question would be if there was a TPS sensor problem wouldn't me CEL come on?

I have a similar question... When i am in SS mode and i go from 2nd to 3rd I usually get this big jerk! I think im usually flooring it, i get up to about 1k rpms away from red line then i shift to 3rd. my 02 tl-s has about 83k miles. Will the dealer replace a tranny just for that? Or do I have to wait until it dies? -Chris
