r/t is your reaction time and 60' is how fast you get off the line

actually i didn't do any burnouts and just punched it off the line, the nt555's gripped very well considering it's on 19" rims...if i had smaller, lighter wheels, i could have managed a better 60' time of around 2.20 or something and that wouldve dropped me down to a 14.5 with just intake and exhaust

Pretty decent times, AGP!
Do you have an idea how much weight the 19's add over the 17 inch stock rims?

maybe the 19's helped the launch. Mayybe they they let you go wot at the launch. Either way, great times. Next time take the 17's and see if any times 60ft, 1/8, 1/4 and trap change. Wheels weight tends to affect whp...so I bet you trap a little higher with 17's over the 19's .

Were you brakcet racing or just racing for time?

the reason i asked is cause when i went to the track in houston, i was on the stock tires and wheels and didnt want to burnout if not necessary. so on my first run, i simply punched it off the line, my tires started to hop violently so i had to let off the gas. i wasnt sure if i wanted to try again, but i figured id give it a chance. i did a burnout at the next try and there was no wheel spin and subsequent hop. i was able to simply floor the pedal and the car took right off the line.

R/T is reaction time. It measures the time from the light going green on the "tree" to the front tire breaking the staging light. R/T is not part of your total time- it just measures how it takes you to wake up and hit it. With a normal tree, perfect is .400 sec, with a pro tree, perfect is .500 sec.
60' is your time to the 60ft mark from the starting point. It's a great indicator of how hard you can launch the car.
With my '80Z and its crappy tires, I only run a 2.30 60" time, but still hit 13s and 103mph at the top end. With some type of drag radial, I could cut .5 secs off that 60' time, and probably .7-.8 off the 1/4. But, I'm set up for the twisties, not drag.

I like to do a little mini-burnout (not through the water on street tires!) just to kick the rocks/pebbles from the staging lanes off the tires. There's no point in heating street tires way up, though, as they're not meant for it.

Hey T Ho, do you still run your 80Z ? What mods have you done to it.
I have an 82 280zx turbo rotting in my driveway. HKS Exhaust, HKS Powerflow, EVC, Intercooler from an 87 Supra, Super Blow Off Valve. I was putting in a Electronic Tec II, water injection when I stopped fiddlin'.

I haven't been to the track in a long time. I'm looking at going in a couple of weeks. I'm sorting out some vibration issues right now.
