Tokico's are prettt good. I've never heard of them "exploding" or giving out. Most of my family and relatives use them in their cars when they do suspension work. I don't know who is telling you this, but that doesn't sound typical of Tokico's. Only thing better than Tokico's are Koni's but that is debatable.
Heres one place i found some info... This was not the only place i saw stuff like this, but i cant find the exact others right now... This is why i just popped for the little extra to get the neuspeed/koni

Tokico
I had Tokico Blues on my Civic, they're definitely better than the KYB's I had on them before that which died immediately! But never had any problems with them. Of course driving a lowered car with lots of potholes and bumps will eventually kill any strut but mine was fine for the almost 2 years that I had them.

I got Tokico Blues for over a year now, no problems whatsoever. On a side note, just because Konis are more expensive doesn't mean they don't fail either. There is this one guy on this board (forget his name), and his Koni yellows died a few years ago. So Konis are not infallable either.
hemants..... how did you get the lifetime warranty?? i bought my illuminas off ebay and he said it has 'lifetime' warranty also but i forgot about it and dint chek for any paperwork or anyting.. i havnt even opened mine yet... ALso, its adjustable, but i dont know what adjustment i should leave it on... ANy ideas??

I had tokicos blues on all my cars. Even on my g/f Accord. No problems here whatsoever. This is a moderate upgrade, but if you drive more aggressive, u should get the illuminas. Sounds like you exceeded weight, or there was some kind of install problem.
Not too big of a fan of Konis. They are a bitch to adjust.

I have tokico blues/HR OE on my CL, they are great. From a cost benefit standpoint, I think these are a killer deal. No, these arent the best for tracking your car. No, they arent adjustable. But they do offer a great ride for a decent price. My CL will never see a track, and I am never going to remove the backseat to adjust the stiffness of my shocks. I have had Tokico Blues on 3 cars that I have owned, and will keep getting them.
I've got Illuminas on both of our Tl's and no problems. I've never heard of the bursting problem. Had a set of Blue HP's on my 300ZX and after 100K miles, I called the factory and had them replaced without a problem. Just proved that I was the original purchaser and they sent me a new set.
