TLX 9 Speed Transmission on a J32A2 block in 2G TL?
I am currently building a motor for my 2G TL. The block is a J32A2. I either plan to use that block or a J35A3 for my build.
I saw a commercial for the new TLX and really liked the 9 speed auto trans with paddle shifters that the 2015 has. Anyone thought of installing that trans on a retro application? Would it even bolt up to either of the J blocks mentioned above? If so, what kind of interior mods would be required to make the paddle shifters and gear select work?

Welcome Carnie Hobo !!!
Even if it were remotely possible.....the project would be super cost prohibitive, IMO.
Instead of playing with paddles, why don't ya consider swapping in a CLS 6 speed stick ?
Until then, save up your money for a TLX.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I figured that would be the response, but you have to dream right?
Regarding the 6spd CL-S trans, I'm not 100% that i want to go the standard route. This car is my daily driver and will be until I get a Lotus Evora S (thats what I'm currently saving up for). I commute 30 miles to work and get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic nearly everyday. I just think i would get annoyed with a standard in traffic around here.
However, the goal of the build I am doing is 350whp. Not sure if thats possible with a J series, but thats what I'm shooting for. (I want to be able to keep up with those GT Mustangs ). With that goal in mind, will the stock automatic trans, B7WA, keep up with that full torque and powerband curve?

Given the problematic auto trans, I would not chance using it for your motor build given your goal is 350whp. You would need to swap to the 6MT or maybe use an Oddy/MDX trans if you really want to stay auto. However auto would likely make it more difficult to hang with other similarly powered RWD cars.
You need to spend some time reading some of the swap threads.

With a little patience, the LOTUS will blow the 'stangs doors right off the hinges. So, save up for the EVORA.
