TLP shocks on TLS???

I'm 47 y/o, and just bought an '03TL-S w/ navi. I drove both the P and S, and really wanted the extra HP so went with the S. That said, I do a lot of highway driving, and actually liked the ride of the P better. Can I simply replace the S shocks with P shocks and smooth it out just a little?

Appreciate your input,
JOHN

I believe the shocks are the same on both....the reason for the harsher ride is probably the 17 inch wheels

No I think they are different. If you want, I'll trade my shocks for yours

jr, I think the biggest difference is in the wheels and in the seats. The TLP seats are more plush.

I would recommend trying wheels first because you can easily find someone to trade your TLS wheels and tires for TLP wheels and tires plus cash.

That way, if it doesn't work, you can swap back and try something else.

The TLP springs will give you more body roll so I don't think that will be the best solution.

Also, you could try just changing your tires to a wider one. The steering will be stiffer but the greater road contact will dissipate bumps over a greater area and feel more comfortable.

I know it's hindsight but if you like more luxury and less sport (with the same horsepower) then the Infiniti I35 may have been a good choice for you.

I agree with hemants... besides for the TLP springs giving more body roll, I think it would just be flat out dangerous. I'm pretty sure that the sway bars on the TL-S are stiffer then the TL-P also, so by switching the springs (assuming they're different) you would be upsetting the handling of the entire car. Then, on top of that you're considering putting SMALLER wheels on the car.... I don't know.. doesn't sound like a good idea to me....

not to talk trash or anything because i dont know you. But, this is another example of how you should thoroughly test drive a car and make sure that it is what you want. This poor guy is willing to shell out some major dough to make the car smoother. After its all said and done you could have probably bought something nicer that rides better.

You could always get koni yellows or tokico illuminas and adjust them to full-on soft. The illuminas and oem probably cost around the same too.

try swapping tires first, theres a lot of TLP members that would love to have the TLS rims/tires package.
if that doesnt work,
get some new shocks. My favorite are monroe sense-trac they are very smooth even on hideous pothole infested roads(really, they rock) Had them on my truck not sure if they make them for our car yet
