I think the problem is related to "mode" button that you have. Try this. turn off your climate control, and try pressing "mode" button to switch air flow from feet, head area, and finally to your window. Listen to it closely, mine makes discusting noise when its switched to the window... something in the mechanism that changes air flow to defrost window....

...or then again, you might have a leaf trapped in a part of your ventilation system.

Sounds like you have debris stuck in the fan ,This is an easy fix and you could do it yourself if you are inclined to want to give it a try.But if your car is under warranty let the dealer take care of it.If you need help let me know.Jens

I have the exact problem...it does seem like it sounds like a leaf is stuck. You will only hear the noise when there is SUFFICIENT flow of air to make the noise. I only heard mine when i had the fan on MAX and the air being recycled. Other than that i wouldn't hear the noise. I brought it to the dealer and the replaced my "FAN MOTOR"

Your other question to air being blowen out of the center vent. When you have it on certain modes...you will get no or very little air comming from the center vent. Mostly when both feet and face vents are activated...i guess the blower isn't strong enough to feed all vents. I don't know is this is normal or if somehtings wrong with it, but i have it also

This IS NOT a problem. The center vent is designed to not blow too strongly. Instead, the car is suppose to Heat or Cool EVENLY.

Anybody remember our older cars ?
4 vents on the dash ? Real strong hot or cold air ??
The two people in the front gets air blown on them all the time.
The passengers in the back dying of heat or cold ?
This is what the newer vent systems are designed to prevent.

Mine had the same fluttering noise last year. It only happens when the temperature is low (ie: in the winter). This year, the flutter went away by itself. Instead, I now have a quiet whinning noise. But that also has seemed to have decreased substantially already. Hopefully it will follow this trend and by next year everything will be quiet! Otherwise....maybe I'll get em to replace the fan motor.

BTW, do they have to rip apart the dash to replace the fan motor?
