well.. i finally got my court notice today. The court date is April 30th! wow..

Anyways.. they gave me a ticket of "fail to stop, red light"
Withness is the officer. The officer was right there at the intersection while i ran through a yellow.
as i was about 1/3 of the way, the light became red. ppl were honking at me.. and as I was almost through the intersection.. some dude hit me from the right.

He was on the slow lane, going from my right to left... u know what i'm saying? hehe...

Officer then just steped out of his car and went through all those blabhalbhalbha. and a ticket... (he didn't even have to chase or stop me, since my car did a 360 )

Now.... is there any way i can argue that it was yellow when i crossed it? It was unsafe to stop coz the road was covered with snow. Yet, i tried to stop for it but i couldn't that's why i decided to go through. Because of the hesitation, the light became red halfway, and the dude on the right just make a early acceleration and boom he hits me.

If i did ran a soild red light.. i don't think i would be hit by that guy only... I mean.. what r the odds of me going through a already going 6 lane intersection at 50km/h with out hitting or getting hit at least for 2 times?? right?

Since that guy was in the slow lane, doesn't that proved that i was indeed almost through the intersection? .....


is this a good argument?

I'm 200% sure it was yellow when I went for it.. u know... stupid guy could avoid of hitting me.. but he just HIt me hard... (that guy is a car insurance broker) !!! What a fag eh!!

hmmm.. also, since i had no insurance at that time.. the accident claim went into my dad's account. hehe.. he had the record of accident at fault. I got the ticket.

Would this ticket show on my record? Which could affect my insurance premium for next year??

btw. I'm in Toronto, Ontario.. How many points would they take from me?

Yeah, I heard some lawyers do this kind of "ticket fighting" for u... and they are very pricy... almost the same amount as ur ticket... however, u don't lose points in that way... and I heard they always win.... well.. good luck!!!

It's good that you keep in touch with your TL bros here! However, dude, we gotta try and put an end to the kind of situations you seem to find yaself in all the time. First the strange acting TL, now, your new bimmer in an accident already? As the others say, speak to a ticket fighter and see what he can do. As far as the accident, that's unfortunate but we're glad that you're ok. I think from the sound of things, you're in a tough spot on this one. But nevertheless, u also gotta wonder about people who immediately cross the intersection as soon as the lights turn green. Good luck, bro!

2nd accident happend 3 days later on HWY.

BMW is fine, no accident... since after 2 accidents, i drive with extream caution now ^^

True True.. once I renew it.. it'll be over for me. But, isn't there always a 2nd chance? I heard that insurance won't go high on ur 1st "@ fault" situation right? haha... besides.. it was claimed through my dad's insurance for the accident. So.. on my record it'll only have "Red light" record.

Nope... they will nail you for the first @fault... unless....... you have a 5 star rating... which means that no accident for 5 years...

There are 3 ticket fighters that I use...

keep in mind that they know how the system works, they know how to deal with cops/judges, and they know them personally sometimes...

I don't know any ticket fighters but my friend had one and he said it was really worth it. He had an accident right besides the cops and cops gave him a ticket that's gonna cost him $500!!! For dangerous driving!!!!! Then he had this ticket fighter and they won!! So ticket fighters r good...

 

Not sure how it works in your neck of the woods, but here in CA...

you have to be completely across the second cross walk before the light turns red otherwise the cop can legally give you a tix for running a red. giving the excuse "i entered while it was yellow" is not acceptable and the judge will side with the cop.

Also, if a cop hears your engine accelerating through an intersection, he can give you a ticket as well.

If you're desperate, you can try to see if the cop has any vacation time coming up at his police station, then try to schedule the court day during that time. Also, not sure how many times you're allowed to change court dates, but if you change it a few times, the cop might not show up at the end.

Honestly, I think you deserve the ticket based on my definition of running a red light. If the law is different in your area, then you have a chance.
