I was wondering if its possible to upgrade the factory alarm honk on a 99TL to the small chirp found on the new TLS. My car sounds like its farting when I arm the alarm.

Also would like to know how to install a motion/impact sensor to our factory alarms, I read somewhere that several people bought the DEI module and had the shop install it. Does anyone know how do do this. I do have the service manual and would be able to look into the alarm system.

i think theres 2 horns on the 00+ TL's... one for the alarm and one for that small chirp... my 00 TL has it too

adding on the shock sensor is an easy mod. You basically connect three wires.

I don't know if anyone has sucessfully converted the '99 to use the '00-'02 beeper. Heck, I don't even know where the beeper is located in the car, but it sounds like it comes from the engine compartment or under the passenger side of the dashboard.
