Test Ride of 3.5L CL Type S in Florida
It lives! And it's crazy fast! Not even in the same league as my buddy Nick's CL-S with Comptech header and AEM intake let alone a stock CL-S. There is so much torque at any RPM it's unreal. The powerband is very linear... no matter where the tach is -- when your right foot mashes to the groud you're answered with PULL -- right up to the redline. 90MPH comes up in a flash... this kind of torque is addictive as hell! And despite having the stock exhaust installed, at wide-open throttle it sounded like an animal!
Mods include the 3.5L engine package, an Apex-i V-AFC, Comptech headers and an AEM intake along with cross-drilled front rotors and high-performance brake pads surrounded by an 18" wheel and tire package. I didn't ask, but it was pretty obvious that the car was tastefully lowered -- I'm assuming on Comptech springs.
Speaking With Doug and John from Rick Case Acura (the gentlemen responsible for the car) I learned that this is simply a "Stage 1" package. If you don't know John and Doug like I do -- you better believe that the Stage 2+ packages will be nothing short of insane. In fact, about the only limiting factor they can see is the power handling capabilities of the transmission, but they've got a solution in the works as we speak.
If the Stage 1 test mule was that much fun, I can't wait to sample a more potent variant!!

Unfortunately I was just going in for some service and was offered the test drive then, so I didn't have my digicam with me. I plan on going back soon for pics and more information and I'll be sure to post it all.
