Temp Drop = HP Gain ??

Hey I read that for every 10 Degrees F that you drop , that equals out to 1 Horsepower gain on cold air intakes.. In other words the better intake u have keeping air cool, (10F) per 1 HP. Is this true ???

cooler denser air will make more HP. warmer high humidity will reduce HP

dude at least ATL has CHEAP gas and it's 93 octane!!!
i moved from ATL to Cali and it's almost $2.50 a gallon and 91 octane with lotta crap in the liquid to reduce emission...

my TL felt 100000000 times better when i was in GA pumping 93 octane for almost half the price... Cali cat piss gas sux.

And then there is california... we are still hitting 90~ degrees and gas prices are higher than most places in the country.

But yeah, about the thread topic. You can even notice it yourself. Drive ur car in daytime and again at night. It pulls a lot faster and feels less sluggish overall.

Air is more dense (more molecules of O2 per given volume) at lower temps than at higher temps, altitudes and humidity.

actually it's...

1% more power for every 10 degree drop in temperature.

Im not sure how accurate that is , 1% power for a 260hp car would be 2.6 hp . That seems too good to be true

so what you're saying is if the temperate drops down 50 degrees, which would be ridiculously frozen, and the roads were dry, my TL would basically feel like I have headers under the hood!!!

j/k guys...ya I do also find that when the air is cool and crisp (about 15 celcius) the car definitely pulls harder than on a hot summer day (30+ celcius with tons of humidity).
