Tail Light problem HELP!!

Hi, I have a 1999 TL but with the 02-03 Tails. All of the lights on them work...the reverse lights, blinkers, and they light up when I turn my lights on. The only problem, when I put my breaks on, they don't light up. My 3rd brake light lights up, but my tail lights don't light up. They've both worked fine until today. Can someone help me out here?

i don't know too much about these things, but seeing that nobody's posted anything yet, i would suggest making sure that the brake lights aren't fused. if they aren't, check to make sure you haven't blown a fuse in the fuse compartments (there's one inside the cabin near the passenger door and another one in the engine compartment, i believe).

Did you install the new wiring harness? Make sure everything is properly in place and connections are tight. There is a relay box on the driver side I believe, make sure you connect the wiring harness properly to that. Switch back to the old one wiring and see if it works now. Make sure the filaments aren't broken. 7443 bulbs have dual filaments.

You mean take out the new ones and re-install the old ones to test and make sure its not a wiring problem?? Also, these lights were working yesterday, and all the other lights work...what are the odds that both bulbs would go out at the exact same time??

Hi, I'm sorry that I'm being so demanding, but I am supposed to go out tonight and I just don't feel safe without my brake lights working...I really need to know about my previous post. Thanks!

I have a 2000 TL, and this just happened to me as well. I haven't modified or changed anything.

Both brake bulbs replaced, fuse is fine, but switched just to be on the safe side, still I have no brake lights beside the 3rd top one.

Any ideas where I would start looking for a ground problem?

Is your "BRAKE LAMP" warning light on in the display?

No, it isn't at all

Only way I found out about it was someone stopping me and letting me know while I was driving.

If the filaments or bulbs were bad, that light would be on to warn you. You need to have this checked out ASAP.
